March 20 - Carrie Vee Wilson is a member of the Quapaw tribe. She has served as Director of the Quapaw Cultural Resources Office and as NAGPRA representative for the Quapaw Tribe. Quapaw Indians lived in four villages near the confluence of the Arkansas and Mississippi Rivers when they were first contacted by the French explorers Marquette and Jolliet in 1673. Their homeland included much of Southeast Missouri.
